So long as the flame does not reach higher than the liquid inside, water can be heated inside a flammable container, such as one made of wood or plastic.
Of course, once the water reaches the melting/burning temperature of the container, this is not longer true.
Hey Dave
If I live by the ocean wouldn’t I be able to take salt water run it through a still and distill it, won”t it be safe to drink? All I would need would be a container to boil it in with a lid modified to accept coiled tubing, another container to catch the condensation, and a heat air and fuel source to boil it.
Outstanding video. He is organized, succinct, concise, accurate, and the video is outstanding. Rare talent these days. This guy you would want with you in a survival situation. But shut up and think.
Water treatment describes those processes used to make water more acceptable for a desired end-use. These can include use as drinking water, industrial processes, medical and many other uses. The goal of all water treatment process is to remove existing contaminants in the water, or reduce the concentration of such contaminants so the water becomes fit for its desired end-use. One such use is returning water that has been used back into the natural environment without adverse ecological impact.
